In Kashmir’s killing fields there are far too many other threats which tend to divert attention. Only when a possible trend is detected is it feasible to actively deploy for an intelligence mission as specific as this.
One has witnessed India and Indians angry but seldom as angry as they appeared on social media on Thursday evening. The gory targeting of the CRPF convoy in Kashmir by a car bomb driven by a Jaishe-Muhammed (JeM) suicide bomber has dismayed the nation, just as it should, but the limited options before it drive such frustration over the top. Uninformed opinion is blaming the government and CRPF. But it’s important to know the operational environment and the threats before finger pointing.
